LED Flashlight Tips

    Maglites as melee weapons

Maglites have been very well known to be used as melee weapons by policemen. Around March 2007, the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) announced that they would be switching to the Pelican LED 7060 which is smaller and brighter than Maglites. This is because Pelican LED 7060 can not be used as batons in response to a incident where an police officer was accused of using an excessive force against a suspect by using a Maglite.

Probably one of the most efficient on the market. A good engineering design to disperse the light and very bright for 3AA and 72 hours of battery life. Will be buying a few more.

I bought this lamp as more of a joke than anything. Sure enough i took it on our most recent camping trip and i was blown away at how much light it emits. It will easily light up a tent or room on its full setting plus it only takes 3 AA batteries which is great since 90% of my camping electronics are AA. This is a serious lantern if your backpacking or need something small and lightweight. Infact, this lamp outperforms my 3D 3-LED Energizer Eveready lantern.

5 out of 5 stars Great Compact Lantern   September 23, 2009

For it's size and batteries it puts out a ton of light. It's built sturdy and is easy to operate.

It's my new favorite compact lantern and is so much safer than carrying liquid fuel lanterns and no Carbon Monoxide to worry about in your tent or house.

I love these lights. We use them for power outages. They provide adequate light for seeing around the house. And they look cute too.

This lantern is not as bright as the D cell lanterns but is pretty bright for 3 AA batteries.
Very good quality.......and the batteries are not that hard to put in.
The method for installing the batteries are are little different from what your used to but not difficult.
This lantern has the flashing strobe function which could be used as a flare if you were along side the road. So I plan to carry one in my car and have one in the house.
If you need to illuminate a large are maybe you should consider the D size lantern.
Good deal for the money.
