Highly recommended January 19, 2009 B. (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own a few pairs of LE handcuffs (all ASP), and this flashlight/key combo is priceless. No longer do I have to bother someone to "light me up," or sacrifice control of the person in custody because I have one hand tied up holding my flashlight. It has a separate light on each end, so you can see whenever your uncuffing or double-locking. The only thing that could perhaps be considered a "flaw" is that there are not two separate buttons for each light. Thus, when you turn on the light for uncuffing, the light for double-locking also turns on and shines in your eyes. This isn't a huge problem, but if you work the night shift, it can affect your night-vision.
It's simple, a handcuff key with a light March 18, 2010 Mong A Lloyd (NC, USA) I've used it for several years and it works fine. Yes, it does light up on both ends (the first version didn't) but that's not a really big deal. It might not fit on "toy" handcuffs, but for real ones (designed for real work) it'll work just fine. I'm a Peerless guy myself, but I had no trouble on a set of oversized S&Ws either.
Streamlight 63001 Cuffmate July 4, 2010 Richard While slightly longer than expected it has a very good quality light for a key-chain light, and being a handcuff key is an added bonus. If you buy it primarily as a handcuff key the other keys on your key-chain make for a minor annoyance. If you have use for a handcuff key & want a quality key-chain flashlight I highly recommend this product.
Nice July 11, 2010 Brian T. Baer (Long Island, NY USA) The lights on this little guy are bright! Does what it's supposed to as well. Only drawback is it's hard to turn on one of the lights without the other one turning on as well and shining in your eyes.
Doesn't fit many handcuffs. September 15, 2008 btb_anon (Silicon Valley, CA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have several makes of handcuff, all share the same basic key design. The key on this flashlight is slightly too wide and gets stuck on all my handcuffs (that include reasonably good makes like Winchester). So it fails in its primary purpose. I can't check it on real police handcuffs having no access to them. So it ends up being just a bulky and overpriced keyring light.
After getting an informative comment, it seems cheap quality cuffs rather than this key ring are to blame.
